Austin Martinez, MA
Registered Psychology Associate of Durwood Whitten, PhD

Austin Martinez, MA, is a third-year doctoral student at Loyola University Maryland and a Registered Psychology Associate of Durwood Whitten, PhD. Austin graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and from Boston College in 2020 with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a concentration in child and family mental health.

 

Austin began his clinical experience as a psychiatric technician providing milieu therapy for children and adolescents at Wellspan Philhaven, an inpatient mental health hospital in Central Pennsylvania. During his master’s degree, Austin obtained an internship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, MA where he conducted individual and group therapy for those involved in the Comprehensive Addictions Program.

In his time at Loyola, Austin has provided individual therapy and psychoeducational testing to children and teens through the Loyola Clinical Centers. Austin is currently completing his externship experience at Springfield Hospital Center in the Psychology department’s Addictions, Recovery, and Trauma Services working with those who are forensically involved and experiencing serious mental illness.

 

Austin enjoys working with a diverse range of individuals, with particular interest in those who have experienced trauma and are struggling with addiction. He values a person-centered and Cognitive-Behavioral approach in creating a safe space to meet clients where they are in their journey. Austin also comes to Complete Wellness with a focus in psychological testing, and he will be providing assessment for those seeking diagnostic clarity and looking for ways to better understand themselves and their experiences.
