Oscar is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Registered Psychology Associate of Durwood Whitten, PhD. Oscar graduated in 2012 from Florida International University with a BA in Psychology and a BA in Sociology. In 2015, he finished his Master of Science degree in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling from Carlos Albizu University in Miami.

As a counselor, Oscar is committed to helping clients maximize strengths while gaining insight into draining and unproductive behavior patterns. While his style of counseling is mostly informal and relaxed, he uses a combination of person-centered and Cognitive-Behavioral approaches to address treatment goals.

Oscar is open to working with clients of any age with any diagnosis. He has worked with court mandated adolescents, substance abuse facilities, and community mental health clinics with clients dealing with mood, anxiety, and substance abuse disorders as well as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Oscar has also worked with individuals who struggle with severe mentally illness such as Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder. Oscar is also fluent in English and Spanish.
