Nadia Alsamadi, MA
Nadia Alsamadi, MA is a Registered Psychology Associate of Durwood Whitten, PhD. Nadia graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and is currently a 3rd year doctoral student at Loyola University Maryland.
Nadia has particular interest working with adjustment and identity concerns, depression, and anxiety. As a first generation Palestinian American and member of the LGBTQ+ community, she understands how critical cultural humility and sensitivity to issues of diversity and privilege are to clinical work.
Nadia began her clinical career working in community mental health centers with both substance abuse and mental health concerns. Her most recent clinical placements include the Loyola Clinical Centers and Goucher College Student Counseling Center. Nadia has experience working with adults with a wide variety of diagnoses and concerns from emerging to late adulthood.
Typically operating from an integrative approach, Nadia draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. Regardless of theoretical lens, Nadia prioritizes and values client cultural and contextual factors at the onset and throughout the duration of treatment. Consistently and thoroughly examining and addressing the effects of therapist/client identity factors as well as systemic oppression on mental health is central to her clinical practice. Nadia strives to create a strong therapeutic rapport, and to deliver empathic, validating, and supportive treatment with clients of diverse intersecting identities. Nadia is excited to collaboratively work with clients at Complete Wellness to achieve a more meaningful life based on their values and strengths. She looks forward to exploring clients’ stories and honoring and celebrating who they are.
